Zuellig Pharma is appointed by Fresenius Medical Care, the world’s largest provider of dialysis products and services, as its exclusive logistics service provider in Myanmar. The two companies also enter a distribution and commercialization agreement in Cambodia. This new long-term partnership in Indochina follows the strategic focus and investment of both Fresenius Medical Care and Zuellig Pharma in Myanmar and Cambodia.

The prevalence of kidney disease in Asia is growing due to the increasing rates of diabetes and hypertension. It is important that the industry works together to provide access to high quality healthcare for end-stage renal disease patients in the region.

With a population of over 55 million people and a growing demand for healthcare products and services, FMC opened their first office in Myanmar as a commitment to support healthcare systems in providing quality care for patients with kidney disease worldwide. In Cambodia, Fresenius Medical Care further supported the Khmer Soviet Friendship Hospital to open the hospital’s dialysis center, paving the way to affordable quality dialysis treatment in Cambodia.

“I am excited to collaborate with Fresenius Medical Care to help make healthcare more accessible in Myanmar and Cambodia. We look forward to working closely with them to expand the use of innovative solutions that will improve the quality of life of chronic kidney failure patients,” said Yves Hermes, Area Director Southeast Asia Zuellig Pharma.
