Zuellig Pharma recently completed a company-wide transition to the SAP HANA platform, marking a significant milestone in their reporting systems.

The SAP HANA platform is an in-memory data platform which simplifies the overall IT system, helping the company accelerate business processes and deliver real-time business insights. Its key capabilities include database services, analytics processing, app development, data access, administration and security.

Zuellig Pharma Chief Information Officer Maikel Kuijpers said, “This transition is part of a strategic initiative to deliver customer value from our expansive data store. Through the SAP HANA system, we can provide real-time information on product portfolios and performance with clients, sharing an unparalleled level of insights that will enable them to identify and leverage market opportunities as they emerge.”

Mr Kuijpers added, “SAP HANA also allows us to streamline the data management process, making it easier to track and analyze the digital information assets. We can also leverage the content delivered through the SAP HANA system and integrate it with other data sources to generate much faster and more effective insights.”

Following this transition, Zuellig Pharma is gearing up to launch a new and unique self-service portal ZIP Online + for clients and customers early next year. Touted as a game-changer, a pilot version rolled out earlier this year was well-received by clients.

“There is a tremendous amount of information generated by the healthcare industry every day, but it’s often not available to us nor analysed efficiently. The new customer portal will allow healthcare companies to log on and get instant access to the information they need on their sales and inventory. This will optimize sales and marketing strategies, and allow us to manage our inventory efficiently,” shared Mr Kuijpers.
